The Lazy Lady is an urban flower garden located in central Austin. We are fifth generation Texans, proud to continue our family’s farming tradition on a 1/5th acre urban plot.
we grow in the cottage garden style, with heat and drought-tolerant plants that survive and thrive in central texas’ unique growing conditions.
we specialize in growing rare and heirloom cut flowers, vines, flowering plants & herbs. many varieties aren’t found anywhere else in Austin!

how we grow
did you know bees and butterflies prefer blue flowers above all others in the garden? because of this, we work extra hard to source plants that produce blue blooms.
we rely on renowned Mt. cuba research center trials to ensure specialty varietals are bred with pollinators in mind.
we strive to grow the most fragrant blooms! fragrant plants attract pollinators and beneficial insects, and are highly pleasing for everyone.
wherever possible, we use plastic-free garden alternatives. we source all our nursery pots secondhand to prevent contributing to the 350 million pounds of plastic the gardening industry produces every year.
